Job summary

Hylton Performing Arts Center is seeking a Director of Production to lead all production services across its multi-venue campus in an executive role. You will align staffing, budgets, and technical capabilities with institutional priorities and revenue-generating activities.

The position requires directing a complex team, managing contracts and riders, and ensuring safety and compliance across events with evening/weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ten years of progressive professional experience in technical production or live event management in a major performing arts center or equivalent.
• Experience managing multi-venue facilities and large-scale productions across disciplines.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, staff, and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level leadership for production and technical services across a multi-venue center.
• Align production operations with institutional goals and revenue-generating activities.
• Oversee staffing, budgeting, and procurement for production needs.
• Manage safety, compliance, and contractual riders across events.
• Serve as final escalation point for high-risk, time-sensitive issues.
