Job summary

JPMorganChase Asset & Wealth Management seeks an Executive Director to lead the architecture, engineering, and delivery of its strategic derivatives platform on the Athena (Python) framework. This hands-on role defines the platform vision, sets engineering standards, drives a multi-year roadmap across Fixed Income, Equity, and Multi‑Asset strategies, and provides hands-on guidance to senior engineers.

The position also leads multiple engineering teams, fosters a culture of engineering

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience as a quant developer, collaborating with quants/traders or portfolio managers.
• Deep knowledge of derivatives, pricing, risk, and analytics.
• Strong Python proficiency; working knowledge of Java, C++, or C#.
• Experience with Athena or comparable platforms.
• Executive presence and ability to communicate complex topics to varied audiences.
• Experience leading agentic AI-enabled development practices with governance.

Responsibilities

• You will manage senior relationships spanning Portfolio Management, Trading, Operations, and Accounting—communicating architecture decisions and delivery status.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Architects and governs agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve delivery speed and code quality, with guardrails.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge to automate development at scale.
• Advises cross-functional teams on technical matters within domain of expertise.
• Serves as the function's go-to subject matter expert.
• Contributes to development of technical methods aligned with latest product development methodologies.
• Creates reusable software frameworks leveraged across teams.
