Job summary

Southend Pharmacy is seeking a strategic Director of Supply Chain in Houston, TX. You will lead procurement, inventory, and warehouse operations, driving supplier qualification, risk management, and continuous improvement across the end-to-end supply chain.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team, own the budget, and ensure compliant sourcing of APIs and excipients for compounding, while partnering with QA, regulatory, and finance to support growth and regulatory excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or related field.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in supply chain, procurement, or sourcing in FDA-regulated environments with at least 5 years in leadership.
• Proven track record sourcing APIs and excipients and leading an approved vendor program.
• Experience selecting, implementing, and optimizing ERP, WMS, and procurement systems.
• Strong knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, <800>, FDA, DEA, DSCSA requirements in purchasing and materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year supply chain strategy aligned with growth, quality, and financial objectives.
• Serve as senior supply chain leader and advisor to executives on sourcing, inventory, cost, and risk.
• Establish KPIs (fill rate, on-time delivery, forecast accuracy) and report performance to leadership.
• Own the supply chain budget and material spend; identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Lead planning for new product launches and capacity expansion.
• Oversee procurement activities including PO issuance, order tracking, and invoice reconciliation.
