Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking an Executive Director of Patient Financial Experience to lead the Revenue Cycle's Patient Access Service Center and Patient Receivables, driving a patient‑centered financial experience.

The leader will advance digital access strategies, standardize processes, and manage vendor partnerships across centralized functions, reporting to executive leadership and collaborating with IT, finance and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience within hospital Revenue Cycle operations including high‑volume call centers, pre‑service patient collections, pre‑certification and scheduling functions, and customer service.
• Experience leading revenue cycle transformation initiatives in a multi‑hospital system with significant net revenue.
• Experience managing standardization and centralization of core Revenue Cycle functions.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the roadmap for Patient Financial Experience—establish system‑wide service standards, policies and procedures.
• Drive initiatives to improve speed‑to‑appointment, reduce scheduling complexity, and ensure accurate preauthorization to support reimbursement and minimize denials.
• Improve billing accuracy, timeliness, and clarity to enhance patient confidence in financial statements and payment options.
• Oversee all centralized Patient Financial Experience functions including post-discharge customer service, patient liabilities, and financial assistance programs.
• Implement strategies that increase pre‑service collections while maintaining a compassionate patient‑first approach.
• Oversee vendor relationships and strategy with external vendors supporting collections, self‑pay, and other financial experience services.
• Coordinate with peers across Revenue Cycle on denials management and prevention programs.
• Serve as a key partner to executive leadership, IT, and finance on system‑wide initiatives impacting patient financial experience and revenue cycle performance.
• Drive standardization of operating models, training, and performance metrics across hospital‑based and centralized operations.
• Lead cross‑functional revenue cycle projects and manage vendor partnerships to deliver measurable value.
