Job summary

The City of San Angelo Parks and Recreation Department seeks an executive leader to guide programs, facilities, and capital projects. You will manage staff, budgets, and strategic initiatives to deliver high-quality parks, recreation, cultural, and quality-of-life services for the community.

You will report to the Assistant City Manager and contribute as a senior member of the city’s management team, shaping policy and ensuring safe, accessible municipal amenities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Business or Public Administration required.
• 7+ years of parks and recreation leadership or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of municipal budgeting, grants and capital programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for all department programs.
• Plan, direct and evaluate staff, facilities, and capital improvements.
• Serve as principal advisor to City Manager and City Council.
• Oversee the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan implementation.
