Job summary

The City of Lubbock is seeking a senior manager to assist the Director of Parks & Recreation in planning, coordinating, directing and evaluating a comprehensive program of park and recreation services, with responsibility for leading and overseeing management of the department's major recreation facilities.

The role requires developing departmental priorities, reporting on activities, managing budgets, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with city policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in parks and recreation or related field with 5 years in recreation/public administration.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• CPRP or Playground Safety Inspector preferred or related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of departmental priorities and objectives; seek new processes to improve efficiency.
• Foster a professional, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture.
• Develop and implement projects and programs; establish broad priorities and work sequences.
• Prepare monthly reports on department activities.
