Job summary

The City of Conroe seeks a Director of Parks and Recreation to administer the department, coordinating with Purchasing and Engineering to design, construct, maintain and operate City parks and recreation facilities. The role oversees a range of recreation and aquatics programs and manages annual and capital budgets while supervising staff.

• Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or related field is required.
• Ten (10) years' experience in municipal or private parks and recreation in a supervisory capacity; director/chief executive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Parks and Recreation Department and coordinate with Purchasing and Engineering to design, construct, maintain and operate facilities.
• Oversee development, implementation and evaluation of recreation and aquatics programs for the community.
• Develop and monitor annual and capital improvement budgets; supervise personnel.
