Job summary

The Director of Nursing (DON) at VitalCore Health Strategies is a supervisory nursing role in a 24-hour correctional setting. You will oversee nursing staff across units, ensure patient care needs are met, and coordinate with site leadership to meet contract requirements and clinical targets.

Ideal candidates hold an accredited nursing degree, Massachusetts RN license, and have 3+ years of clinical experience with corrections; prior operations management is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School required.
• Bachelor’s or master's Degree in nursing preferred.
• Licensed registered nurse in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes a systematic approach to meet the health needs of each patient.
• Provides quality oversight in collaboration with site, regional and corporate leadership; offers clinical supervision to nursing staff.
• Evaluates patient care delivery processes and uses data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Facilitates development of site performance improvement plans and monitors progress.
• Coordinates and monitors orientation and onboarding for new hires and staff as they move roles.
