Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies seeks a Director of Nursing for Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster, MA. The DON supervises nursing personnel 24/7, plans work, coordinates care with ADON/HSA, and ensures contract and performance targets are met in a correctional health setting.

The role requires nursing licensure in the state, a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and experience in clinical operations management with NCCHC/ACA standards knowledge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School; license to practice nursing in the state.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing preferred; board-certified or board-eligible.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards (NCCHC, ACA) and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate nursing staff across units in a correctional setting.
• Plan training for staff and partner with leadership to meet performance targets.
• Lead site-level accreditation readiness and quality initiatives.
• Develop and implement action plans to improve patient care and compliance.
