Job summary

Blue Ridge Senior Living is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to plan, organize and direct the Nursing Department in accordance with state and federal guidelines. The DON ensures the highest quality of resident care and oversees staff, policies, and the delivery of medications and treatments.

Requires a BSN or equivalent and an active RN license with at least five years in long-term care and prior leadership experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in nursing or related field required.
• Active RN license in the applicable state required.
• Minimum 5 years of long-term care experience with leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct the Nursing Department to meet quality standards.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and personnel evaluations.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures governing nursing services.
• Monitor patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and regulatory codes.
• Lead quality assurance activities and coordinate with the QA committee.
• Participate in committees and act as DON in absence of Administrator.
• Provide staff education and supervise ongoing training.
