That same promise continues to guide the organization as it delivers care, hope, and compassion to thousands of patients across Southern California and beyond.

It began in 1902 as a 12-bed hospital in the Angelino Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. Today, Cedars-Sinai serves more than 1 million people each year in over 40 locations, with more than 4,500 physicians and nurses and 1,500 research projects in motion.

This Executive Director role helps carry that mission forward by ensuring the clinical programs and services within Cedars-Sinai Medical Network hematology oncology medical groups are operated with strong leadership, humanism, and professionalism—supporting high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and responsible stewardship of resources.

The Moment & Opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead clinical and research operations at Cedars-Sinai Medical Network hematology oncology medical groups, with accountability for clinical practice operations, research operations, human resource management, fiscal oversight, productivity, and regulatory compliance.

The role calls for an operator who maintains a strong understanding of trends shaping healthcare delivery and who can lead change efforts with flexibility and initiative in response to environmental and organizational shifts.

Scope & Impact

As Executive Director, you will be responsible for the management and operation of the clinical programs and services provided by the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network hematology oncology medical groups, including but not limited to Cedars Sinai Cancer in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica and Marina del Rey.

Your scope includes clinical practice operations, research operations, human resource management, fiscal accountability, productivity, and regulatory compliance. You will provide overall administrative leadership and operational and clinical management to directors, managers, and supervisors, with responsibility for operational and clinical excellence of oncology services and related programs.

You will oversee departmental functions across research, laboratory, imaging, infusion, pharmacy, nursing, and patient scheduling, and ensure appropriate staffing, equipment, and resources needed for optimal patient care and experience. You will also work collaboratively with Quality Improvement, Population Health, Utilization Management, Risk Management, and other medical network departments to maximize clinical performance, minimize risk, and support quality goals.

Expectations for Outcomes

Success here is defined by delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered pediatric emergency care—while helping the Division grow thoughtfully across its expanding footprint.

  • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets and drive ongoing process improvement and efficiencies, including effective and innovative resource management, production standards, and development of new revenue sources.

  • Oversee delivery of patient care and ensure optimal levels and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality; lead the design and organization of work and allocation of resources to achieve appropriate staffing levels, mix, and productivity levels.
  • Create an empowering work climate that supports collaborative teamwork and problem solving; communicate values and expectations regarding quality and achieve measurable results in quality and provision of services in areas of responsibility.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic and operational plans, programs and policies; develop and implement measurable objectives consistent with the organization’s mission, goals and timetables; measure progress, evaluate results, and take corrective action in a timely manner.
  • Oversee research efforts in areas of responsibility and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory agencies.
  • Hire, onboard, manage schedules, and complete personnel actions, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans; plan, lead, and direct staff work to ensure goals and objectives are completed within established budget and deadlines.
  • Ensure practices and procedures are inclusive of interpersonal and cultural diversity and cultivate strong working relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
