Job summary

Gardens of Golden Gate Park is seeking a Managing Director, Live Experiences to translate our institutional identity into elevated, memorable experiences across three garden sites. This senior role leads the design, planning and execution of marquee experiences at civic scale, aligning 60+ programs and 120+ events with brand and revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of progressive leadership in live events or large-scale civic programming.
• Proven track record delivering high-impact live experiences with strong financial performance.
• Strong leadership and project management, with ability to manage multiple relationships.
• Creative vision with hospitality and customer service focus.
• Experience building major civic or institutional partnerships.
• Excellent judgment and initiative under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership for program & events execution aligned with brand and objectives across three gardens.
• Own full-cycle delivery of 60+ programs and 120+ events annually with relevant stakeholders.
• Lead a team responsible for experience design, vendor management, and on-site execution with accountability for quality and timelines.
• Oversee partnerships with public agencies and corporate sponsors to expand reach and revenue.
