Job summary

Lubbock County is seeking a Chief Juvenile Probation Officer (Director) to provide strategic leadership for the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center. You will direct juvenile probation, detention, residential, educational, and related programs in line with state laws and TJJD standards, reporting to the Lubbock County Juvenile Board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Graduate study in criminology, corrections, counseling, law, social work, psychology, sociology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum five years of related experience, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive leadership and overall management of LCJJC daily operations.
• Ensures compliance with Texas Juvenile Justice Department standards and applicable laws.
• Develops strategic and operational plans; monitors performance and program outcomes.
• Oversees budgets, grants, contracts, staffing, training, and personnel administration.
• Represents LCJJC with judiciary, law enforcement, schools, and community partners.
