Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field.
• One year of full-time casework, counseling, or related social service experience.
• Certification by the TJJD or ability to obtain within six months.
• Valid Texas Driver's License (or ability to obtain) within six months.

Responsibilities

• Screen cases and determine appropriate action in compliance with policies.
• Investigate backgrounds and interview youths and families to assess situations.
• Prepare reports for prosecution, court, TJJD, and other agencies; document restitution or services.
• Maintain records and generate required reports using manual and automated systems.
• Provide crisis intervention and guidance to parents and juveniles as needed.
• Supervise and monitor juveniles on probation or deferred prosecution.
