Job summary

David Yurman, a leader in American luxury jewelry, seeks a Director of Manufacturing Excellence – Engineering – NY Office to guide engineering for new product development. Based in NYC, you will partner with design, PD, and ME teams to optimize manufacturing methods and resolve production challenges.

You will mentor the NY ME team, collaborate with global partners in the US and Europe, and drive ECN projects from concept to completion while maintaining high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design required.
• Minimum 8+ years of jewelry manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on model making and jewelry assembly in multiple metals.
• Deep knowledge of jewelry casting and rubber mold wax production.
• Expertise in stone setting techniques (Bezel, Prong, Hand Pave, etc.).
• Experience with electro-plating and various finishes.
• Strong Rhino 3D and rapid prototyping understanding.
• Ability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with NY design and PD teams to engineer products.
• Attend DFM and CTM meetings to anticipate issues.
• Oversee ECN projects from start to finish.
• Provide bench-level support for the Women’s Mainline project.
• Mentor junior ME team member in NY.
• Coordinate with Bangkok and European vendors to ensure quality and manufacturability.
• Develop and maintain Manufacturing Excellence Manual; document best practices.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
