Coherent Corp. in Fremont, CA is seeking a Director of Indium Phosphide Wafer Fab Operations to lead the startup, qualification, and operation of an InP wafer fabrication facility, guiding technology transfer, process qualification, ramp readiness, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership in semiconductor wafer fabrication or advanced manufacturing.
• 8+ years leading manufacturing operations, fab management, or operations engineering.
• Experience leading semiconductor fab startup, production ramp, or capacity expansion.
• Experience with compound semiconductor manufacturing, preferably InP, GaAs, Silicon Photonics, or III-V tech.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for all wafer fabrication activities to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
• Lead startup, commissioning, qualification, and readiness of a new InP wafer fab.
• Develop and execute a manufacturing roadmap to support growth, commitments, and capacity expansion.
• Establish operational metrics, production targets, and performance objectives aligned with corporate goals.
