Job summary

Make-A-Day in Columbus, OH seeks an Executive Director to provide strategic and operational leadership, advancing the organization's mission to support Central Ohio neighbors facing homelessness and economic instability.

You will partner with the Board, lead programs and outreach, strengthen fundraising, manage budgets, oversee staff and volunteers, and build durable relationships with donors, partners, and public agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in social services or a related human services field.
• 5+ years of staff supervision experience, including managing other people managers.
• Experience budgeting, financial reporting, grant compliance, fundraising, and grant writing.
• Knowledge of housing, health, behavioral health, and justice systems in Franklin County is preferred.
• Experience managing volunteer programs and community partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Execute the Board’s strategic direction and lead multi-year and annual planning.
• Oversee MAD’s service model, including outreach events and housing navigation.
• Develop and manage the volunteer program, including recruitment and training.
• Lead fundraising across grants, sponsorships, individual giving, and events.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, funders, and public agencies.
• Develop and manage annual budget, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Hire, supervise, and develop staff while fostering a trauma-informed workplace.
• Establish KPIs and dashboards to report results to Board and funders.
• Represent MAD in coalitions, policy discussions, and media engagement.
