Job summary

Make-A-Day in Columbus, OH seeks an Executive Director to provide strategic and operational leadership, guiding programs, fundraising, and staff to advance housing and services for neighbors facing homelessness.

You will partner with the Board, oversee budgets and compliance, cultivate donors, supervise a diverse team, and foster a trauma-informed, collaborative workplace while engaging with community partners and AmeriCorps members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, nonprofit leadership, or related field.
• 5+ years in social services, housing, health, or related field.
• 5+ years of staff supervision experience (managing other people managers).
• Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, grant compliance, fundraising, and grant writing.
• Strong leadership, management, and communication skills with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute strategic direction and lead multi-year planning.
• Oversee service model including outreach events, housing navigation, and food truck operations.
• Develop and manage volunteer program.
• Lead fundraising across grants, sponsorships, individual giving, and events.
• Cultivate relationships with donors, funders, sponsors, and partners.
• Develop and manage annual budget, cash flow, reporting, and compliance.
• Hire, supervise, and develop staff in a trauma-informed workplace.
• Establish KPIs and dashboards to report results to Board and funders.
• Represent MAD in coalitions, policy discussions, and media engagement.
• Create leadership and service opportunities for individuals with lived experience.
