Zusammenfassung

The Chicago Public Schools is seeking an Executive Director of Humanities to lead language arts and social science initiatives district-wide. This full-time, exempt role sits in the Office of Teaching & Learning and will supervise a team delivering curriculum, professional learning, and strategy across CPS schools.

The Executive Director will manage budgets, coordinate cross-department work, build external partnerships, and drive equity-focused outcomes for students, families, and communities

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; required.
• Master’s degree and advanced credentials preferred.
• ISBE teaching certificate with appropriate content endorsements required.
• Eight+ years of relevant professional leadership experience in education.
• Five+ years supervising a team of direct reports.
• Five+ years working with adult learners and delivering professional learning.
• Three+ years classroom teaching experience.
• Experience as an instructional leader or educational leadership role.

Aufgaben

• Set the vision, strategic priorities, and objectives for the Department of Humanities that drive coherence and convergence across content areas and align with the district’s vision.
• Supervise, develop, and manage the performance of a high-functioning team and provide leadership, coaching, and professional development.
• Align Department initiatives with district-wide priorities by coordinating with Central Office, Networks, and Schools.
• Collaborate on curriculum materials, professional learning, and instructional tools to strengthen student outcomes.
• Analyze departmental KPIs and student data to inform strategic decisions.
• Develop and manage the Department of Humanities budget and procurement.
• Represent Humanities in Teaching & Learning leadership and coordinate external communications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
