Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Director of Facility Management for a large Texas facility. The role focuses on optimizing daily operations, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance in an acute care environment.

You will lead a diverse team, collaborate with hospital leadership, and drive energy-efficient operations while managing budgets and CMMS workflows to support patient care delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1+ year hospital/acute setting required.
• HICS Training required.
• CHFM within 3 years of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Engages in strategic planning to achieve departmental goals.
• Executes strategic plans and maintenance programs.
• Fosters team development and motivates staff.
• Communicates with diverse stakeholders including technicians and executives.
• Uses building science knowledge to ensure energy-efficient operations.
• Maintains Life Safety and regulatory compliance.
• Oversees work orders and preventive maintenance in CMMS.
• Sets standards for work permits and safety policies.
• Manages direct reports including hiring, scheduling, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
• Identifies training needs and mentors managers and supervisors.
• Implements succession planning and development programs.
• Manages regulatory compliance for Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management.
• Maintains regulatory documentation with engineering platforms.
• Conducts Life Safety system maintenance, inspections, and testing.
• Develops Emergency Management plans and drills.
• Implements Interim Life Safety Measures and infection control assessments.
• Participates in Environment of Care committee.
• Adheres to Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA standards.
