Job summary

The State of Maryland's HSCRC seeks an Executive Director to lead Maryland’s unique healthcare financing landscape and administer the Maryland Model, partnering with the Commission and state agencies to advance payment reform.

The role demands strategic governance, oversight of a 47-person staff, $15.4 million budget, and engagement with the General Assembly to align with Total Cost of Care goals while ensuring affordable, high-quality care for Maryland residents.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in health policy, public policy, economics, health services administration/research, or finance.
• Ph.D. may substitute for three years of the required experience.
• Ten years of health policy or healthcare financing experience may substitute for the formal education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Strategize and lead Maryland's nationally unique healthcare model.
• Oversee a 47-member multidisciplinary staff and a $15.4M operating budget.
• Coordinate with the General Assembly and state agencies on policy and implementation.
• Serve as public advocate and liaison with hospitals, physicians, and payers.
