Job summary

UCSF Foundation seeks an Executive Director to oversee the fiscal stewardship and accounting operations for a multi-billion-dollar endowment and philanthropic enterprise. You will direct finance, accounting, and financial reporting for the UCSF Foundation, BCH-Oakland Foundation, and endowment operations, serving as the Chief Financial Officer for the UCSF Foundation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent combination of experience/training
• At least 10 years of experience in a complex accounting environment
• GASB and FASB guidance knowledge in accounting and financial reporting
• Supervisory experience in a complex Foundation or nonprofit finance
• Advanced knowledge of financial policies, budgeting, fund accounting, HR planning, accounting
• Thorough knowledge of finance, accounting, systems operations and regulatory compliance
• Experience implementing automated financial systems and internal controls
• Strong writing, speaking, and presentation skills
• Ability to multitask and collaborate across organizations at all levels

Responsibilities

• Oversee finance, accounting, and financial reporting shared services for UCSF Foundation and associated entities
• Serve as CFO for the UCSF Foundation, directing treasury, tax compliance, and short-term investments
• Manage policy, system modernization, internal controls, and automation to safeguard assets
• Lead a multi-tier accounting and financial analysis team within UDAR and related units
• Partner with university leadership and board committees on financial strategy and governance
