Job summary

The Building People is seeking a Vice President / Director of Contracts to lead the company’s federal contracting lifecycle and drive strategic execution. You will oversee negotiations, risk management, and compliance across prime, subcontracts, and teaming agreements, while coordinating with finance, operations, and program teams to ensure delivery excellence.

This role requires executive presence, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to guide senior management on complex contractual risk

Qualifications

• Experience leading federal contracting lifecycle and strategy.
• Strong negotiation and risk-management capabilities.
• Executive leadership presence with hands-on oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic review of solicitations, RFIs, and opportunities.
• Lead contract award, setup, administration, modification, and closeout.
• Negotiate prime and subcontracts, consulting and teaming agreements.
• Serve as principal liaison with Government Contracting Officers and partners.
• Collaborate with Accounting/Finance/Operations to ensure clarity of requirements.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, agency supplements, and internal policies.
• Manage contractual risk and flow-down clauses to partners.
• Identify issues and advise leadership on risk and actions.
• Maintain contract data in Deltek Costpoint for visibility.
• Establish disciplined contract management to sustain quality and delivery.
