Job summary

Decatur Morgan Hospital seeks a Program Director to provide strategic, educational, and clinical leadership for the ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency Program. The role ensures accreditation compliance, curriculum oversight, resident education, quality improvement, and scholarly activity across affiliated sites.

The candidate will champion diversity, equity, and psychological safety while directing faculty development and program evaluation, reporting to hospital leadership and the DIO.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board certification in Family Medicine and AL license.
• Strong leadership experience in graduate medical education.
• Proven track record in curriculum development and assessment.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and resident wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for the Family Medicine Residency Program.
• Ensure continuous regulatory compliance with ACGME requirements.
• Develop and execute strategic plans aligning with institutional goals.
• Oversee curriculum development, resident recruitment, and promotion.
• Lead faculty development and evaluation, CCC/PEC oversight.
• Manage ADS updates, annual program evaluation, and accreditation prep.
• Collaborate with DIO, GMEC, leadership, and community partners.
• Foster scholarly activity, quality improvement and patient safety.
• Manage educational resources, budgets, and program personnel.
