Job summary

On-Ramps is seeking an Executive Director to guide a philanthropic family through a startup phase and shape a strategic vision for a new entity in New York. You will preserve the legacy of the sunsetting foundation while embedding health investments and Jewish community life into the new direction.

You will partner with Principals and Trustees to design grantmaking strategy, manage an endowment, align ESG and impact investing, and build governance and operational policies for sustained impact

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional philanthropy experience.
• 5+ years in family foundation leadership and governance.
• Proven ability to coach and develop emerging family leaders across generations.
• Strong systems-thinking and experience guiding strategic pivots in foundations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the grantmaking lifecycle and portfolio across legacy and new program areas.
• Co-design strategy with Principals, set core focus areas, and long-term impact goals.
• Manage relationships with family office, legal, tax, and philanthropic consultants.
• Lead governance, policy development, and transition planning for a new foundation.
