Job summary

A Way Home Washington (AWHWA) is a statewide nonprofit working to prevent and end youth homelessness across Washington. The organization seeks a new Executive Director to lead strategic planning, equity-centered policy, and a collaborative, data-driven movement with communities, staff, and the board.

The ED will set bold goals, align resources and governance structures, and advance community-driven solutions through policy, advocacy, and fundraising.

Qualifications

• Experience leading strategic planning processes that yield clear direction and measurable results.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and staff during growth and change.
• Strong governance and board partnership skills.
• Commitment to equity and racial justice in nonprofit work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's strategic plan and align resources with mission.
• Oversee policy advocacy, external communications, and community partnerships.
• Strengthen organizational infrastructure, internal culture, and cross-team collaboration.
• Partner with the board and Deputy Director on governance and succession planning.
• Travel across Washington state to engage stakeholders.
