Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking an Executive Director of Employee Relations to provide executive leadership and strategic direction for labor relations across the district. The role directs collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance resolution, and employee relations programs aligned with the AACPS Strategic Plan.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of labor relations laws, negotiation techniques, and contract preparation.
• Experience implementing labor relations strategies aligned with district goals.
• Ability to interpret bargaining issues and communicate positions clearly.
• Strong analytical and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Shape systemwide employee and labor relations strategies and programs.
• Serve as chief negotiator for Board of Education in bargaining.
• Guide interpretation and administration of negotiated agreements.
• Manage grievance and dispute resolution processes to ensure compliance.
• Advise senior leadership on labor relations trends and risks.
• Coordinate bargaining proposals and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate across HR, Legal, Finance to implement labor-management strategies.
• Develop relationships with employee associations to support partnerships.
