Job summary

City Year Detroit is seeking an Executive Director who can lead with vision, collaborate with district partners, and mobilize diverse coalitions to advance educational equity in Detroit. You will oversee a national nonprofit’s Detroit site, manage 23 staff and 110 AmeriCorps members, and drive resources to sustain the mission.

Qualifications

• Experience building partnerships with schools, funders, and boards.
• Ability to travel to in-person meetings quarterly (when safe to do so).
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead site staff and AmeriCorps members to grow resources.
• Oversee student impact, school partnerships, and revenue generation.
• Develop and steward a diverse private revenue portfolio.
• Engage government, funders, and community partners.
• Guide board development and strategic planning.
