Job summary

Innovative Life Solutions is seeking an Executive Director for DC Programs in Washington, DC. This role leads operational and clinical performance across residential, day habilitation and behavioral health services, reporting to the COO.

You will drive safety, person-centered care, fiscal stewardship and growth while representing the organization to families, funders and regulators. The position emphasizes staff leadership, regulatory readiness, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted DC clinical license (LICSW or LPC) or eligibility to obtain before start date.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership in human services or healthcare with multi-program operations.
• Experience with adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health or medical needs.
• Experience with interdisciplinary care, crisis response, regulatory compliance and collaboration with public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead DC programs through clear goals, staffing plans and evaluation of service quality and outcomes.
• Supervise and develop direct reports; ensure timely documentation and incident follow-up.
• Partner with finance and COO on budgets, census, staffing, overtime, and expansion plans.
• Oversee licensing, audits, and regulatory compliance; ensure quality improvement and survey readiness.
