Job summary

Jobtailor in New York seeks a senior real estate debt originations professional to identify and execute debt investments across the US. You will lead deal teams, underwrite opportunities, and present credit memos to the Investment Committee.

Applicants should have 10–15 years in commercial real estate lending, deep underwriting skills, and a proven ability to structure complex loan packages including senior, mezzanine, and construction debt. Exceptional relationship networks are a plus.

Qualifications

10–15 years of experience in real estate lending.
Strong contracts, relationships and standing in investment community.
Experience in commercial real estate lending across multifamily, industrial, hospitality, self-storage, and retail.
Knowledge of mortgage products and requirements.
Superior financial modeling expertise.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical skills and foundational real estate knowledge.
Advanced user of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ARGUS.
Ability to originate, structure, conduct due diligence and close senior and subordinate debt transactions.
Experience negotiating and structuring complex loan structures, including senior mortgage structures, construction loans, bridge loans, mezzanine and preferred equity.

Responsibilities

Identify and generate new client relationships nationwide.
Source, evaluate and execute debt investments in the US market across traditional and alternative asset classes.
Underwrite and analyze potential loan opportunities, including cash flow projections using ARGUS and/or Excel, valuations and loan metrics.
Negotiate mortgage loan terms with borrowers.
Coordinate originations and deal teams through investment and closing processes.
Oversee and mentor junior team members.
Lead preparation and presentation of loan investment summaries and internal credit memos for the Investment Committee.
Work closely with originations, asset management, research, portfolio management, legal and other internal departments.
Report directly to the Head of Debt Originations.

Source, evaluate and execute debt investments in the US market across traditional and alternative asset classes
