Job summary

National Life Insurance Company in Montpelier, VT seeks a seasoned Corporate Development professional to identify, evaluate, and execute reinsurance/M&A opportunities and support capital management.

The role requires knowledge of life insurance products, strong financial modeling, and the ability to build relationships across finance, legal, and senior leadership. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Development, the incumbent will contribute to long-term strategy and capital planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or related field
• 10+ years in insurance with 5+ years in corporate development or related transactional roles
• Significant knowledge of life insurance and annuities
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence skills; actuarial experience is a plus
• Ability to lead and develop teams; strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate strategic partnerships and reinsurance opportunities.
• Manage portions of the reinsurance/M&A lifecycle.
• Develop sophisticated financial models and market analyses.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across finance, legal, operations, and other departments.
• Prepare investment memos and board-level reports.
• Identify industry trends to support long-term strategy.
