Job summary

The Winter Sanctuary is seeking an Executive Director to lead our nonprofit during a part-time, flexible arrangement in Mount Vernon, Ohio. You will oversee shelter operations, cultivate community partnerships, drive fundraising, and shape strategic direction in collaboration with the Board of Trustees.

Responsibilities include reporting outcomes, coordinating with the Assistant Director, ensuring fiscal stability, and liaising with partners to advance housing and advocacy for the homeless.

Qualifications

• Must provide their own transportation.
• Flexible hours as required by the needs of the organization.
• Must be able to pass a FBI background check every five years.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization and fulfill the mission as defined by the board.
• Implement board policies with the Assistant Director and assist with planning.
• Attend and report outcomes to Board of Trustees and committees.
• Serve as liaison with community agencies.
• Identify funding sources and submit proposals, ensuring grant reporting.
• Assist in budgeting with the Board Treasurer and monitor fiscal stability.
• Attend local, state and related homelessness meetings, seminars and conferences.
