Job summary

Portland Community Squash is searching for its next Executive Director, reporting to the Board of Directors. After fifteen years, the founding ED is transitioning to a temporary part-time role to support relationships and systems during the handoff.

The successful candidate will lead PCS into its next chapter—steering mission-aligned program growth, donor engagement, and partnership development while upholding the culture and equity commitments that define the organization.

Qualifications

• Deep belief in the mission and a commitment to access and equity.
• A proven fundraiser who will deepen existing donor relationships and build new ones.
• Nonprofit financial management experience preferred at a comparable scale.
• Experience leading and developing staff and building culture.
• Experience working with a nonprofit board.
• Comfort operating in a data-driven, well-instrumented organization.

Responsibilities

• Vision: Conceives and communicates long-term objectives for internal and external stakeholders.
• Communication: Ensures timely, targeted communication to members and the public.
• Fundraising: Leads major campaigns and donor relationships in partnership with the development team.
• Governance: Partners with the board on planning, finance, governance, and facilities.
• Finance: Prepares the annual budget and oversees financial health with the Finance Committee.
• People: Leads a small senior team, hires, and manages performance and culture.
• Collaboration: Partners with local schools and organizations to expand programs.
• Operations: Oversees systems, safety, facilities, events, and program outcomes.
