Job summary

Personnel Resources, Inc. is assisting an organization in seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the mission, strengthen partnerships, and advance the vision for the future.

You will guide strategic planning, oversee finances and operations, drive fundraising, engage the community, and oversee horticulture and education programs for the organization. The role requires leadership and a passion for sustainability and community engagement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of nonprofit management experience, preferably with a botanical garden, museum, or similar organization.
• Proven leadership and staff management experience.
• Experience working with a Board of Directors.
• Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, botany, environmental science, or a related field.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and fundraising skills.
• Passion for horticulture, education, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans in partnership with the Board of Directors.
• Financial & Operations Management: Oversee the operating budget, financial reporting, staff, volunteers, and day-to-day operations.
• Fundraising & Development: Build relationships with donors, government agencies, and community partners. Pursue grants, sponsorships, and capital campaign opportunities.
• Community Engagement: Serve as the primary public and media spokesperson for DABG and represent the organization with local governments and community partners.
• Horticulture & Education: Maintain high standards of horticultural practices and oversee educational programs focused on plants, sustainability, and the environment.
