JOB PURPOSE

The Executive Director, Client Partner, ensures client portfolios are set up for high standards, managing senior client relationships, overseeing complex projects, and leading teams with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

This role manages multiple client portfolios, working closely with the VP, Client Services, to shape and deliver strategies, identify growth opportunities, and support effective team functioning with senior leads.

Candidates should have experience delivering commercial success for complex clients in an integrated agency, managing teams of up to 20, and leading cross-functional teams both laterally and vertically.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  1. Clients
  • Lead long-term relationships with C-Level stakeholders, understanding their drivers to position DEPT as a key partner.
  • Support growth initiatives, uncover upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Manage new business requests, proposals, and onboarding.
  • Maintain client health and develop strategies for optimal relationships.
  • Own the overall success of clients within portfolios.
  • Act as a client champion and ensure excellent work is showcased.
  • Strategic Initiatives
    • Deliver strategic initiatives aligned with business objectives, leading or supporting as needed.
    • Communicate and prioritize strategies across teams.
    • Identify and communicate new initiatives proactively.
  • Commercial & Finance
    • Drive portfolio health, maximize revenue, and support accurate forecasting.
    • Support process improvements with Finance and Operations.
    • Develop new business strategies and create sales materials.
    • Negotiate contracts and oversee revenue forecasting.
  • Team Leadership
    • Manage senior account team members.
    • Mentor, develop, and support recruitment and capacity planning.
    • Foster a strong team culture focused on excellence and professionalism.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    • 12+ years in client servicing within an agency environment.
    • Experience in cross-functional management, leading new business efforts, and managing complex campaigns.
    • Proven leadership of teams of 20+ people.
    • Deep industry understanding and client needs awareness.
    • Excellent relationship management, project management, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure, with high attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with data is a plus.

    This is a remote role, but you must be within 50 miles of San Diego, CA, or Los Angeles, CA to be considered.

    Salary Range: $197,600 — $250,000 USD
