Job summary

MOVE Texas is seeking an Executive Director to steward its mission and lead its statewide growth. You will partner with the Management Team to cultivate an inclusive workplace, champion fundraising, and serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.

You will actively represent MOVE across coalitions and programming, aligning operations with strategic goals and ensuring compliance and financial health.

Qualifications

• Three+ years fundraising and financial management experience including budget oversight.
• Three+ years of senior management experience in nonprofit civic engagement or advocacy.
• Three+ years of strategic planning, scaling operations, and program evaluation.
• Three+ years of people management and coaching direct reports.
• Ability to lead a remote statewide team and unionized workforce.
• Strong understanding of Texas civic engagement landscape and partnerships.
• Commitment to MOVE Texas’ mission and mission-aligned leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee annual budget with Finance Operations Director to ensure payroll and benefits funding.
• Design and implement fundraising strategies with transparent donor relations.
• Partner with Management Team to shape long-term strategy and statewide movement growth.
• Represent MOVE Texas in coalitions, media, and advocacy spaces.
• Lead executive team to develop emerging leaders and staff growth.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.
• Ensure operations are compliant with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) rules.
• Guide governance with Boards and multi-entity oversight.
