Job summary

Oblong Children’s Christian Home is seeking an Executive Director who embodies a mature Christian faith and leadership to guide the ministry.

The candidate will hold a Master’s degree in social work or human services and have 3–5 years of administrative experience in a relevant field. They must demonstrate strong finances, public speaking, and staff supervision skills, with a heart for children and families.

Qualifications

• Advanced Master’s degree in social work or human services from an accredited school.
• 3–5 years of experience in social work or human services administration, depending on degree.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with ability to take input from board and staff.
• Proven financial management skills demonstrated in budget and ministry finances.
• Excellent public speaking and interpersonal communication; strong writing and technology skills.
• Heart for kids and families; dedicated to the ministry and mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision for the ministry under the Board’s supervision to grow impact for the Kingdom.
• Maintain knowledge of developments in children’s home ministries and solicit counsel from board and staff.
• Lead as a servant leader, encouraging and supporting staff; oversee staff meetings and supervision.
• Coordinate staff work, develop procedures, and ensure policy compliance; manage education and training.
• Oversee childcare operations, program planning, and licensing compliance; supervise funding and outreach efforts.
• Oversee campus maintenance, promotions of the Home, and business/financial aspects.
