Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care seeks an Executive Director of Care Coordination to lead the division and align operations with strategic goals. You will work across clinical and administrative teams to improve patient outcomes, throughput, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, performance management, and collaboration with senior leadership to drive continuous improvement in care delivery.

Qualifications

• Graduatedegree inNursing,Social Work,Hospital and Health Administration, Public Health,Business Administration,orrelated field, orequivalentcombination of education and experience.
• Active license to practice nursing (RN) in the State of Iowa, or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) certification
• 7+ yearsof progressiveclinicalleadershipandadministrative experience in a large, complexhealthcare organization withdemonstratedability to work with multiple disciplines to ensure effective health care operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of people in a collaborative way.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence torepresentthe organization in both formal and informal settings. Transparency and an open communication style will be important as operations evolve, grow, and continue to serve UI Health Care and our communities.
• Expertisein performance management,financial management, data analysis, humanresourcesand computer applications.
• Proven ability to implement change, standardize practices, and enhance performance across complex health systems. Expertisein successful implementation of necessary operationalchangesand a demonstrated effective use of Project Management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and align stakeholder groups.
• Experience withplanning and administering a budget.
• Demonstrated strong analytical abilities toanalyze and solvecomplex problems
• Creates andmaintainsa work environment that ensuresoptimalengagement of the workforce

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial oversight of Care Coordination, including MTD, YTD, Budget, Capital, and financial reporting across the enterprise.
• Ensure fiscal management within allocated funds; analyze spending plans and budget variances.
• Develop and oversee capital budget requests, contract development, and policy updates for the office of the CMO.
• Lead cost accounting, rate setting, and patient fund usage initiatives.
• Utilize metrics to drive value and resource allocation.
• Coordinate patient flow, bed needs, and throughput to enhance safety and quality.
