Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver seeks a dynamic Director of Facility Operations to lead the university’s facilities portfolio, including maintenance, asset lifecycle, and safety programs. You will oversee contractors, set performance benchmarks, and partner with Housing/Residence Life on campus housing operations.

You will drive capital planning, manage CMMS actions, and collaborate with university leadership to align facilities with strategic goals, while ensuring compliance and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in management, engineering, public administration, or related field.
• 7+ years in leadership roles in facilities/physical plant operations or higher-ed space.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations and maintenance across all university facilities and oversee third-party managers and contractors.
• Develop and manage capital asset lifecycle, TCO analyses, and multi-year budget requests.
• Collaborate with Planning, Design, and Construction and liaise with AHEC for shared spaces and operations.
• Promote safety culture and direct EHS programs in alignment with regulatory standards.
