Redhouse Arts Center seeks an Executive Director to lead a growing nonprofit theater in downtown Syracuse, NY. This role blends artistic leadership with operational management, fundraising, and community engagement to advance the organization's mission.

The successful candidate will steward a $2.7 million annual budget, oversee staff, and expand programs while exploring opportunities to broaden development capacity and audience reach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated strategic leadership at senior-management level.
• Experience managing a performing arts organization is highly desirable.
• Proven budgeting and financial-management skills.
• Proven fundraising experience.
• Strong organizational, planning, writing, and communication skills.
• Excellent community-relations skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Impeccable integrity and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan.
• Oversee budgeting, financial performance, and program alignment with priorities.
• Attract, support, and cultivate a diverse, effective team.
• Develop and manage annual budgets; support artistic and educational programs.
• Oversee human resources and facilities operations.
• Ensure outreach, marketing, audience development, and community impact.
• Regularly assess programming to meet impact, reach, and budget goals.
