Job summary

Boston College is launching the Krantz Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and Humanity and seeks an Executive Director to build the Institute into a global hub of AI education and research. You’ll lead strategy, partnerships, and curricular initiatives across BC’s nine schools.

The role requires 10+ years of leadership, a bachelor’s degree (PhD preferred), and a demonstrated track record in academia, industry, or philanthropy. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.

• Leadership experience in complex organizations or multi-investigator programs.
• Bachelor’s degree required; PhD preferred; interdisciplinary backgrounds welcomed.
• Internationally recognized scholarly or professional record for senior appointment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the institute’s strategy, operations, and program development.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across BC's schools and external partners.
• Oversee faculty recruitment, mentoring, and research proposals.
• Cultivate partnerships with nonprofits, industry, and government.
• Lead fundraising and donor engagement to expand impact.
