Job summary

Utah State University Extension seeks an Executive Director & Extension Professor to lead Agriculture, Natural Resources and Strategic Centers from its Logan, Utah base. The role oversees statewide programs, facilities, and partnerships, and reports to Extension leadership.

The successful candidate will guide strategic direction, resource planning, and external relations while traveling across Utah to advance Extension's statewide mission and community impact.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in agriculture or natural resources or related field; leadership experience.
• Rank of Extension Professor or Professor with tenure (or equivalent).
• Experience leading complex organizations, programs, centers, or multiple areas.
• Experience supervising and developing employees.
• Experience with strategic planning, organizational development, financial management, resource allocation, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for Agriculture & Natural Resources and the centers and initiatives within the portfolio.
• Establish priorities aligned with USU Extension goals and translate priorities into plans with measurable outcomes.
• Lead collaboration across programs and centers while preserving distinct missions.
• Oversee statewide programs and advocacy for resources and partnerships.
• Support recruitment, retention, and development; foster collaboration and accountability.
