Job summary

Utah State University Extension is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Executive Director & Extension Professor for Agriculture, Natural Resources & Strategic Centers. Based in Logan, UT, the role provides statewide leadership for agriculture, natural resources, and strategic centers, and acts as the State Agriculture Extension Program Leader.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an agriculture or natural resources related field plus substantial leadership experience.
• Rank of Extension Professor or Professor with tenure or equivalent.
• Experience leading complex organizations, programs, centers, or multiple functional areas.
• Experience supervising, developing, and supporting employees.
• Experience with strategic planning, financial management, resource allocation, and decision-making.
• Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for Agriculture & Natural Resources and the centers and initiatives within the portfolio.
• Establish priorities that align with USU Extension and Utah State University goals.
• Translate organizational priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
• Work with faculty and staff to set goals, priorities, and expectations for their areas.
• Identify opportunities and needs across Utah and position Extension to respond effectively.
• Advise Extension leadership on programs, facilities, personnel, resources, partnerships, risks and opportunities.
• Lead organizational change and strategic initiatives across programs and centers.
• Coordinate collaboration across programs while preserving center missions.
