Job summary

Rush University Medical Center, the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Director of Advanced Practice Providers (APP) Services. This role provides strategic leadership, oversees APP practice, onboarding, credentialing, deployment models, and education across the system.

The Director will dedicate 0.60 FTE to clinical work and 0.40 FTE to administrative duties, reporting to the AVP of APPs.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies required.
• Minimum of nine years’ experience as a clinically practicing APRN or PA.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in APP leadership.
• Current IL Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensure or IL Physician Assistant Licensure required.
• Current APRN discipline specific board certification or NCCPA Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides systems-level leadership for APP practice within assigned clinical focus.
• Direct manager for APP Managers and Lead APPs within defined subset of APP workforce.
• Oversees onboarding, credentialing, privileging and compliance for APP groups.
• Drives recruitment, retention, and development of APPs across the care continuum.
• Partner with physicians, nursing leadership and executives to align APP strategies with organizational goals.
