Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Accounting Operations Leader to guide a dynamic team in enterprise accounting, financial reporting and process improvements. You will manage general ledger, cash accounting and regulatory compliance, ensuring GAAP alignment and timely financial closes.

You will also drive budgeting and forecasting, oversee internal controls, and collaborate with senior leadership to shape strategic financial decisions in a large healthcare and academic enterprise.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive accounting experience with 7+ in management, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement accounting strategies, policies and procedures.
• Oversee general ledger, cash accounting, analytics, investments and endowments.
• Lead internal controls and audits to ensure compliance and prevent fraud.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial reports.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
• Lead change management for system implementations and process redesigns.
• Mentor and develop an accounting team; manage compensation and performance.
