Job summary

Avista Senior Living in Yakima, WA seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead the community, oversee operations, and ensure premier resident care. You will partner with the Health Services Director to maintain high-quality care while managing budget and occupancy targets.

Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven track record in memory-care settings, with a commitment to servant leadership and team development.

Qualifications

• Licensed assisted living manager in good standing with knowledge of Washington Assisted Living rules and regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Gerontology, Business or related field preferred.
• Minimum on-site leadership experience in a Memory care setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexible hours and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Providing Team Leadership: Leads managers and staff to foster cooperation, accountability, and growth.
• Supervising and Assisting with Resident Care: Works with Health Services Director to ensure high quality care.
• Family Member Interface: Engages with resident families, answers questions, resolves issues.
• Compliance with WA Dept of Health: Maintains a citation-free community and monitors regulations.
• Operations Management: Maintains reporting with local corporate office on property issues.
• Financial Management: Reports on financial performance and aims to meet occupancy budgets.
• Building Lease Up: Coordinates with marketing and department managers to move in new residents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

As the Executive Director you will direct the overall operation of the community in accordance with resident and staff needs, government regulation, and company specific policy and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing Team Leadership: Leads the team of managers and staff to create a culture of cooperation, accountability, and growth. Works to treat employees fairly, training each of the employees to succeed, and then consistently looking for ways to help the employees grow.
• Supervising and Assisting with Resident Care: Collaborates with the Health Services Director (Licensed Nurse) to ensure only the highest quality of care for the residents.
• Family Member Interface: Interacts with resident family members regularly, responding to questions promptly and solving problems appropriately as they arise.
• Ability to work with and interface with WA dept of health: Consistently works towards being a citation free community. Regularly reviews rules and regulation to ensure compliance.
• Operations Management: Maintains close relationship and reporting with the local corporate office regarding ongoing property issues and developments.
• Financial Management: Reports to the local corporate office regularly as to the financial performance of the building. Strives to meet and exceed budget occupancy goals for the community.
• Building Lease Up: Engages with the in-house marketing director and coordinates with the other department managers to move in new residents to the community.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

QualificationsQualified Candidates will have the following characteristics:

• Licensed assisted living manager in good standing with a thorough knowledge of Washington Assisted Living rules and regulations.
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Gerontology, Business or related field preferred.
• Have meaningful on-site experience providing leadership in a Memory setting - Minimum of 2 year's experience preferred.
• Be an excellent communicator.
• Fun to work with and have the ability to work flexible hours.
