ABOUT US

Square One Politics seeks out the most promising Democratic women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to run for Congress in long-overlooked red districts and states, and provides the high-impact, hands-on support they need to launch, run, and win their groundbreaking campaigns — against all the odds. Square One candidates and alumni include Denise Powell, Christina Hines, Lauren Underwood, Angela Alsobrooks, and many more. The organization has grown in 2026 to execute its most robust program to date. Next year, Square One is eager to continue to grow, enhance its work, and celebrate its 10th year anniversary.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Square One is seeking a new Executive Director (ED). The current ED will be transitioning to a new role as President to help strategically expand the organization. The new ED will report to Square One’s President and work in coordination to oversee the organization’s next chapter of growth and impact. The new ED will manage four full-time staff and ensure the day-to-day work stays on track. A successful ED will bring heart and extensive experience in campaigns and electoral politics to the work, with a proven commitment to driving progressive change and uplifting the next generation of breakthrough leaders, as well as an understanding of long-term strategy and power building. The ideal candidate will love leading teams, forging meaningful relationships with donors and stakeholders in Democratic politics, and thinking creatively about how we can better support and elect a new generation of diverse and underrepresented leaders.
