The Wisconsin School Safety Coordinators Association (WSSCA) is seeking qualified candidates to serve as their next Executive Director.
WSSCA has been involved in Wisconsin school safety for over 50 years. Our current strategic plan centers around goals to increase membership, learning opportunities and engagement with stakeholders. We are committed to making schools a safer place to learn, play, teach, work and to visit, and the Executive Director will serve as a visionary, bringing these principles to life.
The current role of Executive Director is supported by a part-time Assistant Director, part-time Safety & Security Assessment Program Coordinator, part-time Certification Program Coordinator and a twelve person Board of Directors. In addition, numerous advisors serve alongside the board. WSSCA provides professional development throughout the year which centers around our recently updated and DPI endorsed Safety Coordinator Certification. WSSCA also hosts a statewide conference each year which attracts hundreds of attendees and vendors. The WSSCA Board and staff utilize a strategic plan to guide development of annual and multi-year goals and priorities.
The Executive Director’s duties are summarized as follows:
- To provide leadership in School Safety and Security
- To direct and administer WSSCA affairs
- To oversee the financial status of WSSCA
- To oversee the planning of meetings, conferences, training(s)
- To help guide the Board of Directors and Association regarding the Association’s Strategic Plan
The preferred candidates will possess skills and competencies in the following areas:
- Organizational Leadership
- Collaboration with State Agencies & Partners (i.e. DOJ, WJOA, WASBO, WASB, AWSA, WASDA)
- School Safety and Security Experience
- Communication Skills
- Business Management
