Job summary

GEORGID Consulting seeks an Executive Director to provide overall leadership and oversee day-to-day operations for a leading not-for-profit organization in the Innovation and Technology sector based in Lagos. The role drives programs, ensures strategic priorities are met, and contributes to the organization’s vision.

The Executive Director will report to the Board, manage the secretariat, and build relationships with stakeholders, partners, and funders.

  • Leading fundraising and partnership initiatives, including grant management and reporting.
  • Driving business development by identifying opportunities and developing partnerships, programs, and policy proposals.
  • Strengthening knowledge management and information exchange within the ecosystem.
  • Organizing workshops and events with sector stakeholders to support the mission.
  • Developing and managing annual budgets and programs, and preparing financial reports.

Our client, a leading not-for-profit organization in the Innovation and Technology sector based in Lagos, is looking to fill the position of Executive Director. With members spread across Nigeria, the organization supports a community of over 150 innovation and technology hubs, fostering policy advocacy, creating linkages, and promoting sustainability. They also facilitate capacity building through knowledge-sharing events, demo days, and meet-the-funders sessions.

Position Summary

The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors and be responsible for providing overall leadership and overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will drive the organization’s programs, ensure the achievement of strategic priorities, and contribute to the organization’s vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operations, developing and implementing strategies to achieve the organization’s mission and goals.
  • Leading and managing the secretariat team and resources, ensuring optimal performance and results.
  • Representing the organization externally and building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and funders.
  • Planning and executing projects to create a cohesive ecosystem experience for members.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for the ecosystem, providing support and addressing stakeholder queries.
  • Ensuring adherence to corporate governance and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Initiating, executing, and supporting fundraising and partnership initiatives, including grant management and reporting.
  • Driving business development by identifying opportunities and developing partnership initiatives, programs, and policy proposals.
  • Strengthening connections, knowledge management, and information exchange within the ecosystem.
  • Organizing workshops, meetings, and events with sectorial and industry stakeholders to support the organization’s mission.
  • Developing and managing the organization’s annual budget and programs.
  • Preparing financial reports and maintaining financial records.
  • Implementing talent sourcing, management, and development strategies and processes.
  • Tracking and reporting the organization’s performance and evaluating impact to drive sustainability.
