Job summary

Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization (SCIO) seeks an experienced Executive Director to lead our nonprofit into its next growth chapter. You will serve as chief executive, fundraising, and community ambassador across staff, Board, donors, and partners.

The ideal candidate excels in strategy, donor relations, and program oversight, and will promote diversity, inclusion, and sustainability while engaging with local faith communities, civic leaders, and service partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in human services, nonprofit management, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Four or more years of management or leadership experience in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and/or resource development.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit operations, budgeting, financial management, and organizational sustainability.
• Desire to work with individuals and families facing poverty, homelessness, or related challenges.
• Familiarity with Sheboygan County’s social service systems is strongly preferred.

• Lead fundraising and resource development, including donor cultivation, major gifts, events, and revenue growth.
• Research, write, and manage grants and cultivate relationships with foundations, corporations, and private funders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with faith communities, donors, businesses, civic leaders, and community partners.
• Work closely with the Board of Directors on governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, fundraising, and organizational development.
• Serve as a visible ambassador and spokesperson for SCIO at community events and speaking engagements.
• Speak publicly to inspire support for SCIO’s mission.
• Identify opportunities for collaboration, program growth, and increased community impact.

Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization (SCIO) is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and visionary Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter of growth and impact.

For more than 37 years, SCIO has worked to transform lives, one family at a time through our three impactful programs: the farmers market, Family Pathways supervised visitation program, and Bridgeway & Beyond transitional living program. Our Executive Director will serve as the organization’s chief executive and public face, providing strategic leadership while building strong relationships with staff, Board members, donors, funders, faith communities, businesses, civic leaders, and community partners.

This is a dynamic leadership role for someone who enjoys both big-picture strategy and hands‑on engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong fundraiser and relationship‑builder who is equally comfortable writing a grant, meeting with a donor, supporting staff, speaking to a community group, collaborating with the Board, or representing SCIO at a local event.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership & Operations

• Serve as a visible ambassador and spokesperson for SCIO at community, civic, faith‑based, and professional events.
• Speak publicly and communicate effectively to inspire others to support SCIO’s mission.

Strategic Growth & Organizational Impact

• Identify opportunities for collaboration, program growth, and increased community impact.
• Lead with a trauma‑focused, strength‑based approach and a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in human services, nonprofit management, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Four or more years of management or leadership experience in a nonprofit or community‑based organization.
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, and/or resource development.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit operations, budgeting, financial management, and organizational sustainability.
• Desire to work with individuals and families experiencing poverty, homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use, social disenfranchisement, or other barriers to stability.
• Familiarity with Sheboygan County’s social service systems and community landscape is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary: $70,000–$77,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
